Dr Matthew Jiang is a consultant rheumatologist based in Melbourne.
He graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2012 and completed his rheumatology specialist training at Western Health and the Royal Hobart Hospital.
He holds a public consultant position at Western Health Footscray, where he is also involved as a supervisor for physician trainees and is an honorary Senior Lecturer with the University of Melbourne Clinical School.
He consults privately in rooms at Footscray and Richmond and sees rheumatology patients at Epworth Richmond and Freemasons, where he is the Clinical Lead for Rheumatology as part of the Internal Medicine Clinical Executive.
He also sees rural/regional and interstate patients via telehealth through Telecare.
He is actively involved in rheumatology research and is part of the APLAR (Asia Pacific League of Rheumatology) Osteoarthritis Special Interest Group, and works collaboratively with a research team from Melbourne University investigating molecular markers in arthritis.
He is interested in the management of all aspects of rheumatic disease, including inflammatory arthritis, non-inflammatory musculoskeletal conditions and systemic autoimmune diseases.
His focus is on helping patients understand their disease and treatment, and working collaboratively with other clinicians to achieve the best care for his patients.
